Other than research, I love:
- tons of digital games like Minecraft, Final Fantasy XIV, and Sekiro
- tons of animation like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Gintama
Miscellaneous:
- I first became interested in computer science, and later in world model related research, largely because of my father. He was the one who brought me into the world of digital games, and that shaped my love for everything related to building and presenting interactive worlds.
- I was once an amateur philosophy enthusiast and spent a semester studying philosophy (topic=mind and machines) in nyu, broadly around axiology, epistemology, and metaphysics. I wrote about some of that experience on my blog: Minds and Machines. These days, I feel it is more meaningful for me to focus on why we want to ask those questions instead of answers to those questions (around axiology, epistemology, and metaphysics), but now i still have a great time reading discussion based intro philosophy books such as Godel, Escher, Bach and The World as Will and Representation, Volume I.
